The MEDIT i900 Mobility – Beyond Wireless: boundless freedom and true mobility for the digital practice.

The MEDIT i900 Mobility is not simply wireless – it redefines what mobile digital dentistry can achieve. Scan anytime and anywhere: freely in the treatment room, with a single device across multiple treatment chairs, or on the move at seminars and off-site assignments. The intuitive user interface makes training practically unnecessary – buy today, scan tomorrow. Whether iPad, PC or web: you choose the platform that suits your practice environment. Automatic updates and minimal setup ensure the device is ready to use immediately, with no driver or operating system worries.

Inside, the 3rd-generation optical engine works with 10-bit imaging: colour-accurate, high-resolution captures with a field of view of 18 × 15 mm and a scan depth of up to 30 mm – ideal even for complex cases and molar regions. Metal-optimised smart filters reduce noise on reflective surfaces and deliver reliable results even for demanding prosthetic work. The new Glossy Mode renders scans ultra-realistically in 3D, and with Realtime Intelligence the scanner checks scan data and preparation status in real time – while the patient is still in the chair. Thanks to regular software updates, the scanner even gets better rather than older over time.

The tactile scan and control buttons directly on the handpiece can be freely assigned as hotkeys via MEDIT Link: start/stop, pan, zoom and rotation – entirely without a mouse or touchscreen. The robust, compact design minimises gaps between components and provides protection comparable to water-protected devices. The integrated smart battery management enables up to 1 hour of continuous operation, automatically protects against overheating, overvoltage and overcharging, warns in real time in the MEDIT Link apps and shows the status via LED on the battery and charging station; the charging time is around 2 hours. Convenient for those switching over: existing scan tips of the i900 and i900 classic are fully compatible.

With the latest update, MEDIT further extends the mobility lead of the i900 Mobility – it was not for nothing that it was named “IOS of the Year 2025“ by the Institute of Digital Dentistry (iDD). In addition to the direct Wi-Fi connection, two new connection paths are now available: the Hub connection for wired stability directly at the treatment chair and the cellular connection for operation entirely without the practice Wi-Fi. On the iPad you can thus choose from three, on the PC/laptop from two connection options – depending on how your practice works.

Technically, everything remains at the highest level: the scanner supports the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard with up to 9.6 Gbit/s with low interference and automatically finds the fastest available network. For the direct Wi-Fi connection, MEDIT recommends a Wi-Fi 6E router (at least Wi-Fi 6).

Fully integrated into the MEDIT ecosystem: MEDIT Link on PC/Mac provides access to all MEDIT apps and third-party integrations, while MEDIT Link Express, as the first iPad-native standalone app, perfects the mobile scan-and-send workflow – from Express Scan Mode for instant patient consultation without registration to case sending with just a few taps. One account, seamless synchronisation, full functionality on both platforms – without additional subscription fees.
