With the Medit iE, Medit is expanding its scanner range downwards – without compromising on what matters: the iE shares the same hardware, scan engine and scanning performance as the i900 classic. What sets it apart is its light grey casing and a software package tailored to everyday practice: create a case, scan, send to the lab. Everything you need is included from day one – via the free Medit Link cloud platform, with open data export and no ongoing licence fees.
The ‘E’ stands for Evolve: anyone starting with Scan & Send today can later add whatever the practice needs – Realtime Intelligence as a one-off licence, the Medit apps for consultation and design – or switch to the i900 series, using the same Medit Link account, the same data and the same laboratory connections. For practices choosing their first scanner, for Medit users equipping an additional treatment chair, for orthodontists with aligner cases, and for anyone wishing to switch from another brand.
Weighing just 165 g, the iE is Medit’s lightest handpiece. It is powered via USB-C from the computer – a single cable for power and data, no installation software, no complicated set-up. The user interface is the same as that of the i900 series: anyone already familiar with Medit needs no training, and newcomers can scan their first case on the day of installation.

Realtime Intelligence checks scan and preparation quality during acquisition – as a one-off licence, no subscription. And when switching to the i900 series, your account, data and laboratory connections are carried over.

Nothing has been left out when it comes to scanning: the engine, cameras and scan quality are the same as in the i900 series. The difference lies in the scope of the workflow, not in the quality of the device. If you’re planning to use All-on-X, chairside design or patient consultations with Medit apps right from the start, the i900 classic is the right choice; if you scan at multiple chairs or discuss scans with patients, the i900 Mobility is the better option.

Does the iE have the same scanning performance as the i900 series?
Yes. The scanning engine and scanning performance are identical. The difference lies in the intended use: the iE is configured for daily scanning and sending, whilst the i900 series is designed for consultation, design and All-on-X.
What’s included from the start?
Everything you need for Scan & Send: create a case, scan, and send to the lab. You can add further workflows later using the same account.
I already have a Medit. Can I use the iE as a second device?
Yes – the same Medit Link account, the same interface, ready to use on the day of registration. The app benefits of your account also apply to the iE; the Essential App Bundle and Model Builder are then free of charge.
Can I try out Realtime Intelligence beforehand?
There is no trial version available for the iE; we’d be happy to show you how it works in a demo. The licence is a one-off purchase, not a subscription.
Can I add SmartX or Medit Link Express later?
No, both are exclusive to the i900. If your practice grows to require these workflows, switch to the i900 series – your account, data and laboratory connections will remain intact.
How long is the warranty valid for?
One year from installation. Through Medit Shield, it can be extended by up to four further years during the current warranty period, bringing the total to five years – please get in touch with us.
